About Flocklog
Flocklog is a web application that helps UK sheep keepers maintain a flock register, record livestock movements, and track compliance deadlines under UK livestock regulations. These terms govern your use of the Flocklog service at flocklog.co.uk.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Beta service
Flocklog is currently in free public beta. During this period:
- The service is provided free of charge. No payment is required to access any feature.
- The service is under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice.
- We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Downtime may occur for maintenance or due to technical issues.
- We will give reasonable advance notice before introducing paid plans or making significant changes that affect existing users.
Eligibility
Flocklog is intended for use by sheep keepers in the United Kingdom. By registering you confirm that you are:
- At least 18 years old.
- A keeper of sheep on a registered UK holding with a valid CPH number, or someone managing records on behalf of such a keeper.
- Using the service for lawful purposes only.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- The accuracy of the data you enter. Flocklog records what you tell it — we cannot verify the accuracy of your flock register entries.
- Maintaining your own backup copies of your records. Flocklog provides CSV export for this purpose. You should export your records regularly.
- Your own compliance with all applicable UK livestock regulations, including the Livestock (Recording, Identification and Movement) Order 2020, rules set by the Livestock Information Service (LIS), and any applicable APHA guidance.
Compliance disclaimer
Flocklog is a record-keeping tool. It is designed to help you meet your legal obligations, but using Flocklog does not guarantee regulatory compliance. You remain solely responsible for:
- Submitting movement reports to the Livestock Information Service within the required timeframes.
- Maintaining your holding register in accordance with current APHA requirements.
- Ensuring all animal identification and tagging is carried out correctly and on time.
- Keeping up to date with changes to UK livestock regulations.
Deadline alerts and reminders provided by Flocklog are a convenience feature only. They are not a substitute for your own knowledge of your legal obligations. We do not accept liability for missed deadlines, regulatory penalties, or non-compliance arising from your use of or reliance on Flocklog.
Flocklog is not affiliated with APHA, the Livestock Information Service, or any UK government body.
Your data
You own your data. Flocklog does not claim any rights over the flock register and movement records you enter. We process your data to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You can export all of your data at any time from within the app. On account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Flocklog for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the service without prior written consent.
- Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Use the service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Flocklog is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, always available, or fit for any particular purpose.
We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to: loss of data, regulatory fines or penalties, loss of income, or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Changes to the service and these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes are notified constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. During the beta period in particular, the service is subject to change as we develop it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
